Day 1 ARRIVAL IN BERLIN
Arrival at Berlin’s airport, transfer to the hotel by private coach and check-in. Free time. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 BERLIN
Breakfast. Free time in the morning for some shopping. Lunch is in a restaurant. Half day guided tour of Germany’s majestic capital: a young and dynamic city that is constantly expanding and evolving. The visit will start with the Brandenburg Gate – one of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks, the Reichstag, the Holocaust Memorial, the Checkpoint Charlie (the Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War). Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 BERLIN - SCHWERIN - HAMBURG
Breakfast. Departure for Schwerin, a town surrounded by picturesque views, lakes and a fairy-tale castle: Schwerin Castle. Visit of the old town and its landmarks, such as the Market square, the cathedral, “Alter Garten” square with its State Museum. Lunch is in a restaurant on the way. Today’s last stop of the tour is in Hamburg. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 HAMBURG - LÜBECK - WISMAR - ROSTOCK
Breakfast. In the morning enjoy a guided city tour of Hamburg: the “Rathausmarkt” (the central square of Hamburg) with its neo-renaissance Town Hall, the Outer Alster – a lake in the middle of the city, St Peter’s Church, St. James’ Church, the commercial offices district, the “Kontorhaus” district, the port. Lunch is in a restaurant. Continue the trip towards Lübeck where you will see: St. Mary’s Church, the “Buddenbrook” House (dedicated to the Mann writers), the “Schabbelhaus” – once residence of traders, the “Schiffergesellschaft” House, the “Füchtingshof”, the “Burgtor”, St. Jacob’s Church and the cathedral. Your next stop is Wismar and then Rostock, for a short visit. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5 ROSTOCK - STRALSUND - RÜGEN ISLAND - STRALSUND
Breakfast. Guided tour of Rostock, Germany’s largest port city. You will see the “Neuer Markt” square, the Town Hall, the “Steintor” (Stone Gate), St. Mary’s Church, “Körpelinerstrasse” (the most popular street in town). Head next to Stralsund for a visit. Lunch is in a restaurant. After lunch, travel to Rügen Island where you will have free time to visit this famous seaside town. Return to Stralsund in the evening. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6 STRALSUND - SZCZECIN - GDANSK
After breakfast, departure towards Poland. You will cross the border near Szczecin, one of Poland’s most famous port cities. During the city tour you will see “Staromlynska” street, which leads to the National Museum, “Orla Bialego” square (which means “the white eagle”, Poland’s national emblem), where the palace “Pod Globusem” is situated. You will also see St. James’ Gothic cathedral, “Farna” street, “Plac Solidarnosci” where the church of St. Peter and St. Paul is situated, the National Museum and the Maritime Academy. One of the most important landmarks of Szczecin is the Ducal Castle, rebuilt after 1945 in Renaissance style. Lunch is in a restaurant on the way. Arrival in Gdańsk and free time. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7 GDANSK - SOPOT - GDYNIA - GDANSK
Breakfast. Guided tour of “Trójmiasto” (or Tricity in English) – a metropolitan area in Poland consisting of three cities in Pomerania: Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot. In the morning, you will enjoy a guided tour of Gdańsk, a city of glorious architecture and rich culture. You will see some of its most iconic landmarks, such as “Dlugi Targ” road (Long Market) with Neptune’s Fountain and Artus Court, which used to be the meeting place of merchants and a centre of social life. You will also see the Town Hall, the Green Gate, the Golden Gate, the High Gate and the Prison Tower. Lunch is in a restaurant. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a tour of Sopot: a beautiful seaside town with the longest wooden pier in Europe. Head next to Gdynia for a short visit. Gdynia is a very dynamic port city with plenty of events. In the late afternoon, transfer back to Gdańsk. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8 GDANSK - MALBORK - ELBLAG - WARSAW
Breakfast. Leave Gdańsk behind and travel towards Malbork, where you will visit its medieval castle, which between 1247 and 1457 was the residence of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order and its knights. It is the largest castle in the world measured by land area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Lunch is in a restaurant. After lunch, continue today’s tour towards Elblag. The city gives the name to the Elbląg Canal, which is 80.5 km long and connects many lakes in north-eastern Poland. It is believed to be one of the most important monuments related to the history of engineering. Your last stop today will be Warsaw. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9 WARSAW
Breakfast. Half day guided tour of Warsaw in the morning. Between World War I and II, Warsaw was considered the “Paris of the North”, however unfortunately it was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. Nevertheless, many areas of the old town have been rebuilt as they originally were. You will discover part of Warsaw’s Royal Route: it begins at Warsaw’s Castle Square and runs south down “Krakowskie Przedmieście” and “ulica Nowy Świat”. You will also see (externally) the Palace of Culture and Science, the Old Town Market Place and the Royal Castle. Lunch is in a restaurant. Free time in the afternoon to keep discovering this wonderful city or for some shopping. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10 DEPARTURE
Breakfast. Check-out and transfer to the airport.
